Banff National Park and the surrounding area are known for colourful lakes and pristine wilderness. During the summer there are numerous hiking, biking and camping options and in winter the Banff area is well know for skiing.

Banff was Canada's first National Park, and in 1888 only the world's second and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Visiting Banff requires a park pass. These are available at the information centres at the Park Gates in Banff and Lake Louise.
